Capacitance refers to the ability of a capacitor to store electrical charge when a voltage difference (potential difference) exists between its two conductive plates. It is a measure of the capacitor’s ability to store energy in an electric field. The higher the capacitance, the more charge a capacitor can store for a given voltage, and vice versa.
